This came in an Omaha Hi Lo Sit & Go.
I liked my pocket cards not so much because of the AK suited, but because of the A-2-3 giving me the best three low cards which is like insurance in case one of them gets paired. Of course no low was made as is typical of when I get A2, but it turned out ok. The other three people in the hand had a full house, a flush (the ordinary kind) and an Ace high straight (the worst hand which was the nuts before the river). The raises were flying on the river. After I called the last raise I told everyone to "take a picture"...lol. It looked cool after the fact but before the river I was "looking over my shoulder" at what could go wrong. I already had the nut straight and the nut flush draw. Board pairs were the only thing that could screw me unless of course a board pair made with the 10 of hearts...hehe. Ok, if a 8 or 9 of hearts showed up my ordinary flush could have been smoked by a Q high straight flush, but I didn't think of that until just now...lol.

So I get knocked out of the Omaha HiLo early so I might as well play in the NL Hold'em, right?
And I get off to a nice start. Won a hand early when I hit pocket 8s on the flop and another dude hit pocket 5s on the same flop. Poor guy. Didn't know what hit him.
Had 27K at the break and built it up as high as 60-something K before the stack started dwindling. It's the stage where a lot of desperate stacks go pre-flop all in and my marginal hands can't limp in. With less than 110 peeps left I get moved to a table and there sits a dude who called me a "ho mo" on an Omaha table the other night when he said "nice river ho mo" and I said "that it was g.ay boy". At any rate both of us made the final table that night and tonight when he sees me on his table he goes "it's you again". To which I responded "lmao, what's up Bread?" (his name). Too funny.
But my stack continued to dwindle and I got moved to another table when, with 33K left and less than 90 peeps left I get pocket 10s and I'm in the small blind (so next to last to act pre-flop). Only 3 people are in for 8K when its my turn to play so I thought I'd just steal the blinds or take someone on and I went all in. Two peeps called. The flop is Q-10-5 with two spades, but I hit a set, so was feeling pretty good. Then one of the players (he was a cocky c**ksucker) says (obviously to me) "see ya" which made me think he had a set of Qs but that didn't make sense since he just limped in pre-flop, so then I thought maybe he had two spades. But no, he had J-9 suited (but the wrong suit) which is a nice hand to limp in on, but he never should have called my all in with that. At any rate, his cocky comment was with an up and down straight draw against an already made set so I was still a heavy favorite. Then of course the last two cards are 4-K and he rivered his straight on me and I was done (and unable to chat and call him a lucky cocksucker (which he most assuredly was). When the cards were exposed someone else typed "lol" and the lucky c**ksucker typed "hmm" which tells me he knows he was a lucky c**ksucker.
I finished 83rd out of 4,000.

~~ Bridgie's Daily Poker Rant 08/20/07 ~~
Today's Daily F**king Poker Blog focuses on the Omaha Hi only event tonight.
I was 28 minutes late to the fray because I had to reboot my computer so when I got there my stack was down to 2,700 chips, but no big deal as a few hands in I won a nice pot and just like that I was the chip leader at my table. I got moved to another table where there was this f**ker who would call you a "river rat" if you made a hand on the river. I told him "don't say that as if you've never hit a hand on the river". And he responded that he never had. So I called him a liar...lol. That non-river fishing f**ker finished in 94th. Maybe he should play a river or two every now and then.
Made it to the first break in ok shape with about 15K in chips, but in the second hour I started making a move. With 105 players left I took the overall chip lead with 78K in chips only to lose it a few hands later which is ok since I have no control over what happens on other tables. Again I got the chip lead with 36 peeps left and lost it the next hand. And again I got it back with 31 left and lost it on the next hand.
Somewhere during all that, I picked up a hand with pocket 10s. The flop was 10-10-7 giving me flopped quads which is a beautiful thing. There were five people in the hand. The first one bet, second one called, I was next and just called, the next guy called and the next guy called. No one folded!! The next card was a 4. This time the first guy probably smelled a rat and checked. Second guy checked. I bet. I think one folded and three called! The river was a 2 and made a possible club flush. It checked to me, and of course I bet. There was a small stack behind me and the fool raised me chasing everyone but me out. Of course I raised him back and he re-raised all in and I sent him packing.
As you may have guessed I cruised to the Final Table (my 16th). But at the next to last table my cards were cooling off and my stack was dwindling. Still it was pretty big to start with so no problems getting to the FT. Once there I was in 7th place and continued to not get good cards. There was one hand at the FT where I had Q-Q-6-7 with the 6-7 both spades. The flop was 7-7-5 giving me a set. But what I didn't want to happen happened. Someone else bet (meaning my set might not be best). So I just called hoping to boat up later in the hand. The turn card was the 9 of spades and for the first time I noticed that the 5 on the flop was the 5 of spades so now I had a straight flush draw in addition to my set. But the other dude bet again and again I just called. The river was the 8 of spades giving me a straight flush! The other dude bets again (24K) all I had left was 25K so I raised him (wish I had more as he had flopped a 5s full of 7s boat).
That was my last big hand and I hung on for as long as I could and finally went out on a hand where I flopped Qs and 2s and lost to a guy who just had Qs until he rivered a 10 to make a second pair that clipped me.

For today's Daily F**king Poker Blog, have a seat in Bridgie's lap and enjoy a Virtual No Limit Hold'em experience.
Hand 1...Q-4 offsuit...Bridgie folds pre-flop
Bridgie's table is closed and Bridgie is moved to Table 83
Hand 2 (sort of) ...even though Bridgie is seated at the new table and ready for action, the f**king Dealer neglects to deal him any cards, so Hand 2 didn't happen and was replaced by the replacement Hand 2 described on the next line.
Replacement Hand 2...Q-4 offsuit...Bridgie folds pre-flop
Hand 3...A-2 offsuit...Bridgie limps in with five other players...Flop is 2-4-9 giving Bridgie a pair of 2's. First two players check, Bridgie bets 40 (the minimum), one player folds, the rest call. Turn card is a Q...it checks to Bridgie who bets 40 again. One more fold leaving Bridgie and two others. River is another 4. This time it checks around. Bridgie loses the hand to a c**ksucker who had a Queen.

~~ Bridgie's Daily Poker Rant 08/13/07 ~~

Tonight's action saw me playing Omaha Hi Lo.
Early on there was a defeatest (read: mutt) who had a nice stack then decided to give it away over a series of about 10 to 15 hands. There were several of us that were more than willing to relieve him of his stack and that got me off to a good start. I had 20K at the break. After the break, I kept on motoring and more importantly staying ahead of the average stack and found myself in good position at the second break with over 100K and only 35 peeps left.
A couple of nice pots later and good ol' BstrdBridgie grabbed the overall chip lead at 205K with 33 peeps left. Although I lost the chip lead on the very next hand I stuck to my fundamentals and with 27 peeps left got the chip lead again. THEN I won another big pot which gave me the huge chip lead, which I rode all the way to the Final Table.
But even with the chip lead going into the FT there are no guarantees. In a word, my cards f**king BLEW (ok, that's two words, but you get my drift!) on the FT and I kept fighting and fighting but with the blinds increasing more and more I kept finding myself all in and somehow kept surviving. Finally, I went out on a hand where I had an Ace, the board made a pair of Aces, and the other guy in the hand had the last Ace. He hit his full house, I missed mine and I was toast.
All in all, not bad for a 4th place finish. Just wish I could have had better cards to play.

~~ Bridgie's Daily Poker Rant 08/11/07 ~~
Today's Daily F**king Poker Blog takes us to the murky waters of No Limit Hold'em.
I played in two No Limit Hold'em tournaments and in the first one played 30 hands and won none of them. One dude terrorized me twice. First I made two pairs and put a substantial bet out there that he called with just one pair and it was the f**king MIDDLE pair. Then of course he makes another pair on the river and his two pair beat my two pair. Then the same dude calls my last ditch pre-flop all in with K-fuggin'-10. I had A-Q suited and of course the flop is K-10-3 giving him two pair. Lucky sonofabitch!
Of course with that quick exit I had to play another one to see if I could at least win a hand! And I did (yay!). In fact, even though my cards sucked for most of the time, I deftly dodged idiotic plays like I described above (well there was one idiotic play that I BENEFITED from but that's another story) and made it all the way to the second break at which point there were 93 peeps left. I was doing fine until a player named "Myboobys25" showed up and kept distracting me. She was in seat 10 and I was in Seat 9 so I had that 45 degree angle view that us menz like so much.
Right after the second break however, my computer decides to lock up big time on me. Among other things, during the process of trying to get back to the tournament, a popup window comes up that says:
"You don't have PartyGammon software on your computer. Download it now? Yes__ No__.
I'm thinking, Damn it!!! Why isn't the "No" choice "F**kkkkkkkk No"????
Anyway, I was locked out of the tournament long enough to where right when I got back I had been blinded to nothing and I was all in with something like 624 chips. I lost, but I was toast anyway with that few chips. I finished 43rd out of 3,910 so all things considered, not bad. It just would have been nice to have had a chance to pick a spot to go all in before my last f**king 624 chips.
OK here's the idiotic story referenced above. I have A-2 and I'm in the big blind and there are no pre-flop raises so I play it. The flop is A-2-7 so I've flopped 2 pair and I'm first to act. There are 5 or so people in the hand so I bet the minimum which should tell everyone still in the hand that I at least have an Ace or I can beat a pair of Aces. The idiot, who has a weak Ace (A-6) then decides to go all in. I figured he had a strong Ace otherwise that just isn't smart considering I had already bet. Of course I called him and didn't he feel stupid when the case Ace came out giving him a set, but me a full house. He had a spanish handle so I politely told him "adios" after his graceful exit from the festivities.

~~ Bridgie's Daily Poker Rant 08/09/07 ~~
Today's Daily F**king Poker Blog finds our hero (that would be me) in a Omaha Hi Lo Sit & Go which is infested with mutts. (see end of Rant for definition of a mutt)
Of course mutt #1 had already been eliminated when most of us on the table began to mercilessly ridicule mutt #2. Finally getting frustrated (either with us or with his dwindling stack...hehe) mutt #2 then, for all to see, typed the following message (note misspelled last two words):
"You guys have a lot too laern."
Don't you just love it when someone says something like that whilst displaying a serious lack of literacy?
Mutt #2 actually won a couple of hands and started getting cocky at which point I advised the table that the reason he was getting cocky was because he had made it to the top 9 which was a new best finish for him.
Soon mutt #2 was gone but the mutt patrol was still (at the time) secretly represented. However the remaining mutts, fearing further ridicule, remained under the radar until the inevitable erosion of their stacks caused them to simultaneously morph into mutt-dom and pre-flop raise each other to the hilt (probably with A-2 in their hands) only to see the hand make no qualifying low. So that was the end of mutts #3 and #4.
Finally all the mutts were gone and some conventional poker ensued (yay!).
Oh yes, and I took first place in the Sit & Go.
Definition: Poker Mutt ™- poker player who 99% of the time bets/raises regardless of what he has. They were originally termed as "All-In Mutts" because we would play in No-limit Hold Em', but the term still applies to whatever format you're playing with.

It's time for the Daily F**king Poker Blog.
Today's tournament of choice was the Omaha Hi Lo.
As luck would have it I got tabled with a kennel of mutts. I just hate that because with multiple mutts you have to pay 4 times the normal price to see a flop not to mention the remainder of the bets. So I had to be selective whilst waiting for the dominant mutt to run off all of the submissive mutts. Finally that happened and the price to see a flop was now a "bargain" at only twice the price. Then about 30 minutes in, the table broke up which I was glad to see because I was sick of that f**king mutt. Then, when I got to my new table, who should also be there but the same f**king mutt!
But slowly the tide turned and once I got the upper hand, i.e., more chips, I started punishing the mutt like the step-mutt he was. And soon he was off to mutt-land (probably to enter another tournament to practice his Muttley ways.) At any rate, as much as I dislike playing with mutts, if/when you survive them you usually have a very healthy stack and sure enough, at the break, I was in 11th place out of over 200 peeps.
But after the break, it was a struggle for me. I got hurt on one hand where I made a straight on the river when there was a board pair. I was last to act and it checked to me, so I bet thinking my straight was good. I was lucky not to get raised by the dude who had checked an "under" boat (his set was lower in rank than the board pair).
I treaded water for awhile but as the field narrowed, I was starting to drown slowly. Finally, I play a hand where I've got 2 clubs and a K. The flop has a K with one club, so not looking good for a club flush, but at least I had top pair. I was whining to myself about why couldn't that flopped K be the K of clubs, but it wasn't so I was preparing to fold when it checked around. The next card was the K of clubs! So now I had a set and a club flush draw. That was enough for me to bet which I did. All but one guy folded, the guy with the big stack. The river missed my boat, but it was a club giving me a flush. So I bet again which put me all in. The f**ker with the big stack was holding clubs too and overflushed me! Dammit!!!! And my set of K's would have been good if the flush hadn't made.
Final tally: 47th place out of 860 peeps.

Some people write poetry, I write a Daily F**king Poker Blog, but that's just how I roll.
Today's game of choice was No limit Hold'em.
The tournament started innocently enough with me winning one of the first few hands. I played 10-9, and the flop was 8-5-3. Not great, but with two over cards, I could hang around. Next card was a 9 giving me top pair but with only a 10 kicker and being first to act, I checked. There were about 6 people in the hand and the fourth one finally bet...120 chips...I was the only one to call. The river was a troublesome card for me, an 8 which paired the board. Since I was first to act I checked not knowing what the bettor over there was going to throw at me. But he checked, too, which made me think he had two over cards, maybe K-J or somesuch.
So I took the pot. I started to check the hand history to see what he had. At that exact moment our table was closed and then I began having connection problems that lasted me through several tables.
At one point, I was connected enough to see the action and dialogue, but not connected enough to play. One of the players typed in something like "Do you XXXing realize that you're slowing down the XXXing game?". I think he was talking to me but I couldn't respond. If I could I would have asked him "Do you f**king understand what f**king disconnected means or are you just f**king stupid?" By the time I was connected it was a bunch of hands later, so the moment was lost. I was able to get in some hands and eventually drew 9-9, limped in for 200 pre-flop then faced a raise to 1,000 still pre-flop. So I re raised all in (2,500) and the dude called with pocket Jacks. It was one of those rare moments where all my chips were in the pot with the weaker hand. To make matters worse, the flop had a Jack so I was quickly toast.
Even though I was around long enough to beat almost 1,700 players (2,305th out of 4,000), I was only connected enough to play 14 hands, 10 of which I folded pre-flop. Of the 4 I didn't fold pre-flop, I won exactly one of them (described above).

tracing over eyelids, down to warm lips,
feeling the electricity they have been waiting for,
thespark they have been needing,
been wantingfor so long,
a memory to acquire for the lovers together.
Feeling hot breath over cool skin,
fingerstracing the outlines of
each others face and bodies,
nothing left but to whisper those words
of love as they take that final step.
Intertwined,
Passion takes over,
as Two Become One.
A solitary tear falls down from their eyes,
over a warm cheek as they smile
thinkingof the memories yet to come
together.
